Textbooks

I only mention these on this website to provide insight into my background and writing experience, as they were all published many years ago. However, those featured are still available on Amazon! It also illustrates how many collaborations I have had over the years.
Foodservice Operations
This was my first textbook published in 1982 by Cassell. There was a chapter on each sector of the catering industry. This lead to Paul Merricks contacting me and together we wrote the book 'Management of Catering Operations'.

Management of Hotel Operations
Having written about catering operations, Andrew Lockwood and I decided to write a companion volume. We had previously written and published a book entitled 'The Hospitality Industry: A Systems Approach'.

An Introduction to Hospitality Operations

This was one of the first textbooks I edited. It had multiple authors from all over the U.K. Other edited books include 'Flight Catering' and 'International Hospitality Management' with contributors from all over the world.
Balls in the air?
If you have scrolled through this website, you will know I have a number of different projects going on. This is what I am used to and the way I work. As an academic it was quite normal to be teaching two classes, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations, leading research projects, editing a textbook or writing a chapter for some else's, writing or revising journal articles, external examining, serving on national expert panels, and much more - all at the same time. It seems I like variety and I find switching between activities stimulating.
